Gunnar Biilmann Petersen is one of the great figures in Danish design history. He was educated at the Art Academy's decoration school and then worked as an architect, but his most important efforts came to be in the area of ??the graphic arts.

His work ranges widely from graphics and posters, banknotes and logos to the design of Jens Olsen's World Clock at Copenhagen City Hall.

Alongside his design studio work, Biilmann Petersen engaged in teaching and research, and in 1951 he became the Academy of Fine Arts' first professor of design.

Biilman Petersen worked on several proposals for table lamps for LE KLINT, some of which are still in the range.
