Iconic Vintage PH5 chandelier by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen of Denmark from the 1990s with abstract art work by G61.
The art work is acrylic paint with a clear coat finish on top.
All types of abstract art share a common position – reality is subjective and not concrete, and it’s up to a viewer to define it.
The very influential Danish designer, architect, writer, and cultural critic
Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen Denmark in 1894 as the son of the Danish writers Agnes Henningsen and Carl Ewald. He started practicing traditional functionalist architecture, but over the years his professional interests changed to focus mainly on lighting, which is what he is most famous for.
The PH5 was so successful it’s said that there is one hanging in every home in Denmark.
